Student Organizations & Events

STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council is the voice of the student body at Laurus Technical Institute. This organization helps to advance students' academic achievement, professional development and promote student body interests.

Any student is eligible to become a member of Student Council. However, in order to hold a position such as President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer you must be elected by the student body and meet the following criteria:

  1. 1) Must be actively enrolled or an alumni of a training program at Laurus Technical Institute, and
  2. 2) Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and
  3. 3) Must maintain an attendance rate of 85% or higher, and
  4. 4) Must have successfully been in training for at least four weeks as a daytime student and five weeks as an evening student.

STUDENT APPRECIATION FESTIVAL

Student appreciation festivals are held quarterly to recognize those students that have achieved the dean's list and perfect attendance. Festivals include fun activities and food and beverages for the student body.

STUDENT RESOURCE FAIRS

Student Resource Fairs are conducted two to three times each year. LTI works with companies in the Metro Atlanta Area that can assist students with information and services. Vendors that have participated in the past include:

  • Atlanta Community Food Bank/Atlanta Prosperity Campaign
